Financial Resource Guide

Financial Resources After Stroke

A stroke can create financial pressure quickly. Medical bills, rehabilitation costs, medications, transportation, home modifications, lost income, and caregiving needs can all become part of recovery. For many survivors and families, it can be hard to know where to begin or what kinds of support may be available.

This page is to help you start that search. RebuildAfterStroke does not currently provide direct financial assistance or grants, but we have gathered resources and articles that may help you understand possible options for managing the financial impact of stroke.

Below, you’ll find links to information about medical bills, insurance, disability benefits, prescription costs, transportation support, housing and food assistance, caregiver resources, and other programs that may be available depending on your location, income, insurance coverage, disability status, or individual situation.

Not every resource will apply to every person, and eligibility requirements can vary. We encourage you to review each resource carefully, contact programs directly when needed, and speak with your hospital social worker, case manager, insurance provider, or local assistance office for guidance specific to your circumstances.

Stroke recovery is hard enough. Finding information about financial support should not have to feel impossible. We hope this page gives you a place to begin.

Please note: RebuildAfterStroke does not currently provide direct financial assistance, grants, or emergency funding. This page is intended to connect stroke survivors and caregivers with outside resources and information that may help them explore financial support options.
