Donation & Donor Privacy Policy

Purpose
RebuildAfterStroke is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting stroke survivors, caregivers, families, and supporters through education, community resources, and recovery assistance initiatives.
This Donation & Donor Privacy Policy explains:
● how donations are handled;
● how donor information is used;
● how donor information is protected; and
● our general practices regarding charitable contributions.
Our Commitment to Donors
We value the trust placed in RebuildAfterStroke by donors, supporters, volunteers, and community members.
We strive to:
● use donated resources responsibly;
● maintain appropriate stewardship of donor information;
● communicate honestly regarding our activities;
● comply with applicable laws; and
● support our charitable mission in a manner consistent with our organizational objectives.

RebuildAfterStroke may accept support in various forms, including:

We will make reasonable efforts to honor accepted donor restrictions.
However, if circumstances make a restricted use impractical, impossible, unlawful, or inconsistent with the organization’s charitable mission, RebuildAfterStroke reserves the right to redirect funds in a manner consistent with applicable law and nonprofit governance requirements.
Tax Considerations
RebuildAfterStroke encourages donors to consult qualified tax professionals regarding the tax treatment of charitable contributions.
No statement on the Site should be interpreted as tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice.
Donors are responsible for maintaining records necessary to support any tax deductions they may claim.
Donation Receipts
When appropriate and reasonably practicable, RebuildAfterStroke may provide acknowledgments or receipts for contributions.
Issuance of a receipt does not constitute legal, tax, or accounting advice.
Refund Requests
Because charitable donations are generally intended to support ongoing nonprofit activities, donations are ordinarily considered final.
RebuildAfterStroke may, in its sole discretion, consider requests involving:

Nothing in this Policy obligates RebuildAfterStroke to issue a refund.
